More Planning and Upgrades

On a non travel note we got our wedding pictures back this week and all I can say is that they are gorgeous.  I was very fortunate to use Dionne from the Shooting Gallery.  I couldn't help but share my favorite one with you.

Ok, now back to travel talk! The price of our cruise went down which we were really excited about.  Not just because we get to save money but because it meant we got to upgrade to a suite.  Not just a suite but a suite that comes with butler!!  I have no idea what the butler will even do but it just has a nice sound to it ha!

We are in the planning stage for our cruise for shore excursions.  So far this is what we are thinking:

Nice:
We really want to see Eze and the Oceanography Museum in Monaco.   We are possibly going to go it alone and just take a cab to Monaco and then take the train to Eze but we haven't ruled out taking a cruise ship tour yet.  We also haven't ruled out hiring a private guide to take us.

Genoa:

I am really excited for this port!!  We are getting off the boat and catching a train to Monterosso the first city in the Cinque Terre! The train ride is only an hour and then we will be on our own to explore a couple of the cities in the Cinque Terre.  (Don't worry mom I am planning this one out really well as not to miss the boat!)

Livorno:
This is the port I am most excited about by far!  We are renting a car at the pier and driving in to Tuscany.  Our plan is to so San Gimignano and Volterra.  If we only have time for one though we will most likely just see Volterra.  Honestly we are just excited to be off on our own driving through Tuscany.

Rome:
We are going to take the train into Rome and explore it on our own.  As long as we see the Vatican, Colosseum and Trevi Fountain we will be happy.  We will more than likely just use the hop on hop off bus tour here.

Naples/Capri:
We want to see the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii while in this port.  My dad might be meeting us there and we will drive around the area with him or we might get a private tour or using the cruise ship's tour options.

This is what we have so far!  Almost down to a month left and I couldn't be more ready to relax and do nothing for two weeks.
